Our 2024 Adult Learn-to-Sail Program is now FULL, but we have started a waitlist for those who are still interested. You may still register here and will be updated via email when a spot has opened.

This course is designed for adults with little to no prior sailing experience who want to gain a basic understanding of sailing such that they are able to sail safely and competently without an instructor on board. You will become familiar with the parts of a boat, learn about boating safety, wind awareness, how to rig and de-rig a boat and how to safely and competently maneuver a boat in light to moderate air.

The class will meet for 6 weeks on Mondays evenings from 1700-2000 hours on the following dates: June 24, July 1, 8, 15, 22, 29. Each 3-hour class will have a brief onshore (theory) session before heading out onto the water where the majority of the time will be spent learning and practicing the basic skills of sailing. 

Sign up is on a first come, first served basis. Priority will be given to BYC members and to registrants who are able to attend all 6 sessions (absences due to illness are excused). The cost for this course is $ $325.00 per person.
