Visitor Info

Visiting yachtsmen and members of other yacht clubs are welcome to visit the BYC.  We strongly recommend that you call the BYC office at least 24 hours prior to your arrival to inquire if an event is taking place during your visit as this could put a damper on your plans. In addition, we ask that your home club email a letter of introduction that includes your visiting dates to [email protected].

Please note that the BYC does not cross-charge with other clubs.  Costs incurred may be settled at time of service by credit card only.

Etiquette and Protocol Reminders

Please observe these Club rules when visiting BYC:

Colors
During the summer club season, Morning Colors at 0800 and Evening Colors at sunset are observed daily with a cannon salute (except Sunday) and the appropriate raising or lowering of the flag.

During this brief ceremony please stand respectfully facing the flagpole, remain quiet and place your right hand over your heart with fingers together. Military members and veterans are encouraged to render the military salute. The ceremony concludes when the officiant states, “Carry on."

Pets

Except for handicap service dogs, are not allowed in the Clubhouse at any time. Neither are they allowed in any area on BYC property where food is served. This includes all deck and porch areas. Pets on floats, launches, and in other open areas on Club property must be properly leashed or in a carrier and may only be on property for passing through to and from boats whether on or off season. Pet clean-up is the responsibility of the person handling the animal.

Smoking
The use of all tobacco products and/or marijuana, including cigarettes, smokeless tobacco, ape pens, and electronic cigarettes, is always prohibited.

Cell phones
Cell phone calls are prohibited inside the Clubhouse and on the porch.

Attire
Shoes and shirts must always be worn on the porch and in the Clubhouse. Gentlement must remove their hats when seated in the restaurant or inside the Clubhouse.

Children under 12
Children under 12 must be supervised by a parent or guardian while on Club property or launches and must also wear a life jacket while on the pier, floats, and launches.
